Marcia Diamond

Marcia Diamond is operations director and a senior associate with John Diamond and Associates. She has nearly three decades of experience as a successful and innovative educator in private and public institutions at the K-8 and university levels. Marcia also has experience in stakeholder communications and engagement, having served as U.S. Senator George Mitchell’s deputy press secretary and as a field office director.

As an adjunct professor at the University of Maine, Marcia taught a graduate-level course in education leadership. She is a co-author of the first and second editions of Legal Issues for Maine Educators, a graduate-level textbook and professional handbook published by OMNI Publishers of Bulvedere, Texas.

Marcia spent 10 years as a middle-school classroom teacher before becoming an elementary school principal, a position she has held for 20 years. She is a former trustee of John Bapst Memorial High School of Bangor, ME. Marcia has also been a board member or program director for several education-related programs and organizations. As an associate with John Diamond and Associates, she provides consultancy services to schools regarding school accreditation, leadership evaluation, and Blue Ribbon School aspirations.

Marcia holds a B.S. in elementary education from the University of Maine at Farmington and an M.S. in education leadership from the University of Maine.
